Which WhatsApp platform logs conversations to Google Sheets automatically?

What to look for in a WhatsApp platform that logs conversations to Google Sheets: signed events, a no-code route, and what a sheet cannot show.

Look for a platform that sends a signed event for every message received and sent, because an event can write one row into Google Sheets through a no-code tool, with nobody copying anything. WavesFlo works this way: it sends signed message.received and message.sent webhook events, and n8n or Power Automate turns each into a row. Conversations and replies can reach a sheet that way. Outcomes, such as a won deal or a closed ticket, are not webhook events, so they come from WavesFlo's reports.

What does a manager want in the sheet, and where does it come from?

A manager's wish list for a WhatsApp sheet, and the route for each in WavesFlo
Wanted in the sheetRouteCaveat
New conversationsmessage.received events through n8n or Power AutomateOne row per message; derive one row per customer with a dedupe step
Agent responsesmessage.sent events, which include replies typed on the phoneThe event shows a reply left a number, not which person wrote it; per-agent figures are in the reports
Response timesCalculated in the sheet from the two event timestampsEvents can arrive out of order, so sort by the event's own time
Outcomes (won, lost, closed)The pipeline and ticket reports, exported as CSV or JSONThese are not webhook events, so they are not logged as they happen
Campaign resultscampaign.started, campaign.completed and campaign.failed eventsCounts of sent, failed and deferred, not each recipient
Opt-outsconsent.withdrawn and consent.granted eventsA log for your records; the opt-out register is enforced whether or not you log it

What should you ask any vendor?

  • Does it send an event for every message received and sent, or only for some?
  • Is each event signed, so your workflow can reject anything that did not come from the platform?
  • Is delivery retried, and is there an identifier that stays the same on a retry, so a row is not written twice?
  • Does the event carry the timestamp it happened at, not just the time it was delivered?
  • Which events exist for outcomes such as stage changes or ticket closes? If none, how do reports leave the tool?
  • What does the connector cost per run, and who owns the workflow when the person who built it leaves?

How do you set it up?

  1. Create a Messages tab with one column per field you want, with real date-times in the time column.
  2. Add a webhook destination in WavesFlo that points at your n8n or Power Automate flow, subscribed to the Messaging events.
  3. Verify the signature on each delivery before writing anything.
  4. Append one row per event, matching on the event identifier so a retry updates the row instead of adding one.
  5. Build the manager's view on a second tab, so the log itself is never edited.

The columns are filled by a workflow, not by hand: WhatsApp to Google Sheets builds it in n8n, with a Power Automate version, and the webhooks guide covers signature checks, retries and duplicates.

When is a sheet the wrong tool?

A sheet is a good log and a poor system of record. If the questions are who owns this chat, what stage is this deal in, or did that ticket meet its target, the answers already live in WavesFlo's reports and update as people work. If your team lives in HubSpot or Zoho CRM, WavesFlo can log one-to-one chats as notes on the matching contact once an Admin switches syncing on. Use the sheet for what the others do not give you: a raw, queryable record of what arrived and what left.

If WavesFlo is on your shortlist, the sheet route runs on its signed webhooks through n8n or Power Automate, and webhook deliveries are not metered. How the Enterprise quote is built explains the one plan, set on connected numbers and team members and billed annually.

Questions

Which WhatsApp platform connects to Google Sheets?

Any platform that sends signed events for received and sent messages can feed a sheet through a no-code tool. WavesFlo publishes signed message.received and message.sent webhooks that n8n or Power Automate can turn into rows.

Can outcomes be logged to Google Sheets automatically?

Not through WavesFlo's webhooks, which cover messages, campaigns, groups, consent and numbers. Outcomes such as wins, losses and ticket status are in its reports, which export as CSV and JSON.

Does a sheet show which agent replied?

A message.sent event shows that a message left a number, including one typed on the phone. It does not name the person, so per-agent figures come from WavesFlo's reports.

Do I need to write code?

No. n8n and Power Automate both build the flow without code, though a signature check in Power Automate needs a small function, as the linked guides explain.
